About Abu Dhabi

No matter where in the world you're from, Abu Dhabi will have cropped up on your radar at some point in the last few years. Whether it's the involvement of national airline Etihad with the English Premier League football, the news that iconic French gallery the Louvre is set to open here or the global attention created by one of the world's most expensive hotels, Emirates Palace, or the incredible scenes of the F1 at the Yas Marina Circuit; the emirate has been hard to ignore.

For all its headlines though, anyone moving to the city will find a place with even greater substance. It's generally thought of as being a more family-focused and relaxed place than its neighbour Dubai, and it has an air of respectfulness befitting of a capital city. With every new sunrise though the city takes another step in its evolution with new businesses setting up, housing and leisure developments being built and the cultural hub of Saadiyat Island edging closer to completion.

Abu Dhabi has had to grow in a smart way as it's primarily based on an island so can't simply build where it likes, but many suggest that the capital is set to become the UAE's leading light in the next few years, ahead of the arguably more globally recognised Dubai.
