If you want to splash your cash for a special occasion, there are some amazing treatments – think royal hammams and 24 carat gold facials – to leave you feeling like a million bucks. Expect to pay around Dhs.700 for a 90 minute treatment at a hotel spa or about Dhs.300 at smaller spas. However, at certain times of the year, such as during Ramadan, you'll find lots of deals being offered on treatments. Keep a look out on sites like groupon.ae or 'like' your favourite spa on Facebook to find out the deals first.
On a budget
Pampering need not cost a fortune in Abu Dhabi, with plenty of places offering treatments at affordable rates. You may have to forego some of the added luxuries you get with more expensive treatments, but the end result is likely to be similar. Malls often have beauty specialists that can provide many spa treatments such as massages, which represent excellent value for money.
While there are some unisex spas, it's often easier for men to head to a special male spa for a treatment. Regardless, this may seem like an unusual thing to do for a lot of male expats as spa treatments are generally seen as something more favoured by ladies. However, the damaging sun, skin-drying air conditioning and usual daily stresses can make the world of massages, facials and spas start looking like a good idea.
