Rafting

Rafting is popular because it involves teamwork and is considered one of the ‘softer’ adventure sports (in comparison with diving or canyoning, for example). The best place to go rafting is the Noguera Pallaresa river near Lleida, known as ‘Aguas Bravas(brave waters), because of the strong rapids. Considered one of the best rafting spots in Europe, the region boasts rapids ranging from level II to VI (the highest). The only downside is that most spots on the Noguera Pallaresa involve a two to three-hour drive from Barcelona. Realistically, you need a car to get there, although if you get the train to Lleida some rafting companies will pick you up. There are so many companies offering this adrenaline-pumping experience that it can be hard to choose which one to go for. Below are indications of some recommendable rafting companies. Bear in mind that the season begins in March and runs until November, but the best time to go is in May and June when the rivers are at their fullest.
