Dubai Sports City will play host to the Great Dubai Pulse Ride 2013 – Off-road this Friday.

On offer will be two rides starting at 09:00 - a 5km course going on and off-road for families and children, and a 25km cross-country ride for more experienced cyclists. 

Participation is free and cyclists can either register beforehand at pulseride@thecyclehub.com or on the day at the Dubai Sports City Academies Campus from 08:00.

There will be a brunch barbeque available, as well as a children’s play area and a Friday market, and anyone wishing to take part in the rides only needs to bring along a bicycle and a helmet in order to do so. 

Explaining the idea behind the Great Dubai Pulse Ride – Off-road, Dubai Sports City president Khalid Al-Zarooni said: “The Dubai Pulse is a fantastic initiative by Dubai Sports Council that already stages walks, runs and swims as well as cycling at the new cycle track at Al Qudra, as part of its programme to make sport a lifestyle for Dubai residents. 

“We approached the Dubai Sports Council to ask if they would also incorporate mountain biking into the scheme and they were extremely positive about the idea and the result is this ride. We look forward to welcoming people for a fantastic day that will be fun for all the family and also an enjoyable challenge for the more serious mountain bikers in our city."
