Setting Up A Sole Proprietorship

You can set up a commercial, professional or industrial business in one of the following legal forms:

  • branch company or foreign representative office
  • individual establishment or sole proprietorship
  • limited liability company (LLC)
  • professional/civil business company
  • public or private shareholding company
Individual/sole proprietorship

This is the most basic form of business, and can only be owned by an individual, not a company. This person will own 100% of the business, control all of its operations and keep 100% of any profits. He or she will also be 100% responsible for business debts and any other financial obligations. Non-GCC nationals are not permitted to own an industrial or commercial business.
