Money is a big reason for expats to be in Dubai, so it makes sense to be smart with it when those first tax-free pay cheques starting coming. To manage your finances, you will need to open a bank account. While setting up home and settling in, you may also need to apply for credit cards or personal loans to help you get started. Many expats also use loans to to buy a new (or second-hand) car - a necessity for many when living in Dubai - or to pay the city's notoriously high school fees.
