Top Treatments

The art of pampering is a speciality in Dubai. A comprehensive range of spa treatments is on offer, from super cheap quick fixes to luxurious experiences at the city's five-star hotels. The price of treatments varies between spas, and while basic treatments like manicures and pedicures can be cheaper in the smaller spas and salons, you will often pay a high price for more exotic treatments in the upmarket hotels. Here's our pick of the city's top treatments.

The Oriental hammam is a traditional pampering experience in the Middle East. It involves being bathed, steamed, washed with black soap, scrubbed with a loofah and massaged on a hot marble table – an intense treatment that leaves your skin squeaky clean and glowing. For a real treat try the hammam at the One&Only Royal Mirage or Talise Ottoman Spa at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray - renowned as the city's best.
Nothing counteracts the ageing effects of Dubai's sun like a good facial, and there are all kinds on offer. Sisters Beauty Lounge at The Dubai Mall offers a gold facial that should leave you glowing like a million dirham's worth of, well, gold.

You are never too far from a perfect pedi in Dubai – the city’s nail bars are pampering havens where you can enjoy basic treatments and massages in style. You will find at least one nail bar in each of the malls, and popular salons NStyle Nail Lounge and N.Bar have several locations. Also try The Organic Glow Beauty Lounge and Tips & Toes.
Many beauty salons offer the traditional art of henna or mendhi, for special occasions or a fun experience for visitors. A design is drawn on your skin with henna paste that dries, flakes off, and leaves a stain that darkens, then fades after two or three weeks. Prices vary depending on the complexity of the design you choose. Try Rachna on Jumeira Rd that has designs from Dhs.100, or Aroushi on Oud Metha Rd, with prices from Dhs.40.
Spa with a View
The Spa at The Palace Downtown Dubai makes the most of its enviable location at the foot of the Burj Khalifa, and you can be pampered in a private lakeside spa cabana. Talise Spa at Burj Al Arab, where you can get a caviar body treatment, overlooks the city from 150m on the upper floors of the hotel.

The stunning Saray Spa at JW Marriott Marquis offers a Signature Dead Sea Journey. This two-hour treatment incorporates a salt scrub, mud mask wrap and a soothing soak in a heated, salinated flotation tank. The Dubai Decadence treatment at Raffles Hotel comprises a full six hours of head-to-toe pampering including a steam bath, body scrub, hot stone massage, facial, manicure and pedicure.
