Taught by many private schools in Dubai and in British schools around the world, the English National Curriculum or British Curriculum is popular with many nationalities. It encourages children to reach educational milestones each year and standardised tests assess students, who are assigned targets suited to their academic performance.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS, Foundation Stages 1 and 2) for children aged three to five, is focused on developing the social and academic skills of young children through the use of milestones and communication with parents, with an emphasis on play as well. Students then move on to the Key Stages 1 to 4, until they complete their GCSEs, aged 16 and A-Levels, aged 18.
