Maternity Leave

If you are pregnant and working, then you’ve got some pretty paltry maternity leave to look forward to: just 45 days paid leave for private sector employees and 60 days for public sector, with absolutely nothing for dads (public sector employees are entitled to three days’ paternity leave). You can take another month unpaid, as long as your employer agrees, and if you need some extra time for medical reasons, you can take up to 100 days, although this is only granted upon production of a medical certificate from your doctor. Having an understanding employer can obviously result in maternity leave rules being slightly more flexible.
