Cycle Tracks

The RTA has often talked about the benefits of cycling in the city’s most congested districts, and it is working to promote this form of transportation with its 850km Dubai Bicycle Master Plan. You cannot cycle on Dubai’s motorways and even riding within city neighbourhoods can be dangerous. Also, summer temperatures can reach 45°C, which makes riding to work a very sweaty option. There are, however, a number of places where you can cycle safely for pleasure. If you do decide to take to two wheels, you are required to wear a helmet and a high visibility jacket, or you could face a fine of Dhs.500.
