Malls
Special events are held during Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai Summer Surprises and Ramadan, with entertainment for children, special offers and longer opening hours. These are peak shopping times and an evening in the larger malls at this time is not for the faint-hearted. Most of the malls have plenty of parking – often stretched to the limits at the weekends. Some malls, including Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre, charge for parking, but even at these it’s free on weekends and public holidays, and for the first four hours on weekdays. All malls have taxi ranks (be warned that queues can be very long at chucking-out time on the weekends) and many are handy for bus and metro routes.
