The UAE and Oman are home to some great beach clubs and these are often your best bet when looking for somewhere to practise your favourite watersport. Most hotels charge a fee for access to the beach clubs; it usually includes a full day of access to the beach, pool and other leisure activities, which can be nice for a day out but is frustrating if you only want to book a waterski session or a parasailing trip. The following are some of the best beach clubs that guests are free or relatively cheap to access.
 
Al Hamra Fort Hotel & Beach Resort 
Paradise for watersports fans – not only is it a great escape from the bustling cities, but there’s everything on offer, from banana boating to waterskiing and kayaking, and the rates are excellent. A 30 minute wakeboarding session costs Dhs.180. 

Maxoel Yachts Water Sports
The newly launched watersports centre near Rixos Hotel, The Palm Jumeirah offers a plethora of activities including wakeboarding, windsurfing, parasailing and kayaking.
 
Sea Riders
Sea Riders has been in operation since summer 2013 but it’s fully-loaded boat complete with enormous speakers and laid back staff will no doubt make it a Dubai favourite. Sessions cost Dhs.500 for one hour (weekdays) and Dhs.550 per hour (weekends). 
 
Sky & Sea Adventures
This watersports specialist operates at both the Sheraton and Hilton hotels that bookend Dubai’s JBR. You’ll find the same huge list of activities on offer at each. Wakeboarding and waterskiing each cost Dhs.200 for 15 minutes. 
 
UAQ Marine Club
UAQ Marine is one of the UAE’s best kept secrets.An hour’s drive from Dubai; the water’s almost always flat; and the watersports are charged at relatively low prices – a one hour session costs Dhs.250. Entrance costs Dhs.75 for adults and Dhs.50 for children.
 
Watercooled Dubai 
The latest watersports centre offers a plethora of watersports activities with wakeboarding lessons just the tip of the iceberg. 
 
Xtreme Wake
Friendly wakeboard enthusiasts Ahmed and Karim set up their wake company in early 2013 with one goal in mind; to foster a fun and friendly wakeboarding community. Sessions start at Dhs.550 for two hours.
