The shady, irrigated villages of Wadi Shis, in Omani territory, offer some of the best scenery on the east coast. You'll see the fascinating operational falaj that passes along the cliff face, seasonal pools and peaceful mountain villages. There are plenty of places to explore, camp, hike and bike. Much of the area's roads have been paved and further road construction is underway, meaning it may not stay so serene and sleepy for too much longer.
