Breakwater

This area of reclaimed land is entirely man-made and connected by a causeway to the south western end of the Corniche.

Leisure
The main draw here is Marina Mall, a popular leisure hub with a variety of international brands and a cinema. Poking out from the roof of the mall is the 100m high Sky Tower, where you can have some lunch and enjoy panoramic views of the city at either the coffeehouse or the restaurant above it.

Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club offers some of the best watersports facilities in the capital as well as hosting local and international racing events.

Culture
The beachfront walkways are also great for admiring and photographing the city’s superb skyline. Along the waterfront there are a number of Arabic restaurants and cafes, and Heritage Village, which is a quirky place to soak up some history.

The Abu Dhabi Theater building is also worth a look its shape has led to speculation that it was either a mosque or an observatory – regardless, it only rarely seems to actually have much happening inside. Next to it stands an enormous flagpole which was, for a time at least, the tallest unsupported flagpole in the world at 123.1m.
