The Corniche

Seen as the face of the city, the Corniche runs along the western coast of the island and is one of the best places to while away a relaxing day. Home to some of the city’s most impressive buildings, Corniche Road is lined with high-rise towers, but there are plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the open air.

Leisure
As city beaches go, it’s a spectacular location for a day by the sea, and you can rent sun loungers for a nominal fee at one of three BAKE beach clubs. The beach side of the road is paved all the way along and is buzzing with promenaders of an evening; a casual stroll along the Corniche is a favourite part of many residents’ evening routine. It’s ideal for rollerblading, jogging and walking, while the special cycle path draws both enthusiastic amateurs and more serious cyclists.

Dining
At the south western end, towards the Emirates Palace, there’s a range of cafes and restaurants for refreshments and refuelling.
