A maid’s residence visa must be renewed each year either in person, or online. As the sponsor, it is your responsibility to organise and pay for the renewal procedure (from Dhs.6,000-7,000). 
Prerequisites

• Sponsor must still have a minimum salary of Dhs.10,000.
• Sponsor’s accommodation must still have at least two bedrooms.
• If sponsor delays renewal, then a fine will be imposed after 30 days from the date of expiry.
• Maid passes a new medical test.

What to bring

• Maid’s passport with residence visa
• Maid’s Resident ID (this will need to be renewed annually in line with the visa)
• Passport-sized photos of both applicant and sponsor (three each)
• Passport and residence visa of sponsor (copy)
• Sponsor’s employment contract (attested) showing salary
• Tenancy contract attested through Tawtheeq, the online system of the Abu Dhabi Municpality.
• Electricity and water bill (ADEWA) in name of applicant (copy)
• Maid’s labour contract stating salary (signed by both)
• Maid’s medical certificate (the test must be repeated annually)
• Fees:
• Dhs.220 typed application fee
• Dhs.5,080 resident visa fee
• Dhs.10 Empost courier charge
• Proof you paid the Dhs.2,030 refundable deposit in previous visa application.

Procedure

• Complete the renewal application form at any typing centre.
• Submit all required documents to the GDRFA, with fees.
• You will be asked for the salary of maid, which will be entered into the updated labour contract.
• An updated labour contract (three copies) will be issued together with the maid visa.
• Labour contract must be signed by both the sponsor and maid, and copies given to the sponsor.
• Another residence stamp (valid for one year) will be put in your maid’s passport. 
• Maid’s passport with renewed residence visa, along with their labour card, will be couriered to the sponsor/maid by Empost (allow five days).

NOTE: Your deposit will be refunded when your maid permanently leaves the country or her visa is transferred to another sponsor. Keep the receipt, as you can use this to claim a refund or show it to the residency officer as proof of deposit (at each time of renewal).
