The cabaret scene in Barcelona is epic. It is a city that’s unapologetically flamboyant and encourages even the meekest of folk to let their hair down. There are some amazing, quality acts to be found. The greatest of costumes, voices and faces grace stages in bars, restaurants and clubs across the city. There are, of course, a lot of seedy versions too. The infamous Cafe Miranda is a gay cabaret restaurant that has hoards of loyal followers but there are a lot of straight cabarets too. Bars and clubs dotted throughout the city’s dark little streets can offer some seriously good clean fun, or outrageously camp filth, depending on what you’re after. Strip joints often advertise themselves as having cabaret acts but offer little more than naked grinding on a stage.
