Property Developers
Like the game Monopoly, just about everything in Hong Kong is owned by a bunch of large property companies, from hotels, airlines, utilities, telecommunications, retailing and food companies. These well-known companies have developed properties in China, other parts of Asia and sometimes even expanded globally. They also tend to own a large share of, and manage, residential housing in the fancier areas of Hong Kong. These are well-maintained and good quality housing complexes where mainly expats choose to live, such as Chinachem’s posh townhouses in Tai Tam, and Sun Hung Kai’s apartments in Repulse Bay, which have floor to ceiling windows.
