Since 1890, a parade has been held on 1 January in Pasadena to celebrate the mild weather that Southern California enjoys all year long. The event quickly became known as the Tournament of Roses. Featuring elaborately designed floats covered entirely in flowers, the Rose Parade is watched by television viewers around the country, and is followed by the Rose Bowl Game, one of college football’s premier events.
