Central Jing’an is divided by the city’s premiere shopping street, Nanjing Xi Lu. Several malls and a surprising number of luxury shops, including Louis Vuitton, Tiffany’s, and Chanel, line this portion of the famous street. Plaza 66 is the area’s main upmarket shopping mall, and its expansive pavement is a popular spot for window shoppers, watch sellers, foreigners on the go and local fashionistas. For western food supplies such as meat and cheese, try City Shop in the Shanghai Centre (6279 8018), the mini City Shop on Chengde Lu or Yuyuan Lu, or Japanese import Freshmart in the basement of the Sogo mall at 1608 Nanjing Xi Lu by Jing’an Temple. Several Chinese supermarkets, including a large Park n’ Shop in the basement of Westgate Mall, and wet markets north of Nanjing Xi Lu provide an ample supply of cheap produce.­­­­
