Suzhou Creek holds a few surprises; don’t be afraid to explore the neighbourhood’s clothing stores, DVD markets and electronic shops. The bustling stores, restaurants and bars surrounding Shanghai Railway Station have earned the title Everbright City, Shanghai’s self-proclaimed ‘second Xintiandi’. This still-developing area has large Chinese supermarkets and stores, along with mixed-use buildings. South of the creek, stop for groceries at several smaller Chinese supermarkets and the Carrefour at 20 Wuning Lu.­­­­
