Raha Beach & Khalifa City
While nearby Yas Island is already home to a huge IKEA and Ace Hardware, in 2014 it will boast the UAE’s second-largest shopping mall, Yas Mall, giving Dubai’s shopping calibre a run for its money. There’s also Deerfields Townsquare, just a little further along the Dubai Road from the airport, which brings Carrefour hypermarket to the area, along with a growing number of shopping and leisure outlets including Mothercare and H&M.
Pink Shops
If you’re in Khalifa City (formerly known as Khalifa City A) then you’ll probably find out about the Khalifa City Market shops, known locally as the ‘Pink Shops’ due to the pink tinge of the buildings. This enclave of independent shops are set on their own to the side of 16th Street and house a kid’s hairdressers, fruit and vegetable shop, supermarket, gardening shop and just about everything else you’ll ever need.
