In Emergency
It always pays to be prepared in case disaster strikes. Luckily, in Ireland, you only have to remember two numbers to cover all eventualities. Call 999 or 112 (toll free) for any type of emergency assistance and you will be connected to the relevant service. Services include the police (Gardaí), fire, ambulance, lifeboat and coastguard. Take the time to locate your closest emergency hospital and 24-hour Garda station when you move to a new area, as this may save you precious time when it is most needed. If you lose your passport, contact your local embassy immediately, as well as your nearest police station.
