The General Post Office, a key location in the 1916 Easter Rising, is located on O’Connell Street and is open for business from 08:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday (most other branches close at 17:30). The national postal service is largely reliable and sufficient and you will never have to look too hard to find a post box. Usually green in colour, they mostly come with two signature slots: ‘Dublin Only’ and ‘All Other Places’.
