Mount Cook contains several of New Zealand’s highest and most formidable peaks, including New Zealand’s loftiest, Aoraki/Mount Cook. It’s brilliant walking, climbing and tramping territory – even on the short walks, you’re right in among the alpine environment, and can experience its unique silence, accentuated by the rattle of rockfall and the occasional distant boom of an avalanche.
