One Week
Morning: Grab a takeaway breakfast khameer from Mama Tani in Jumeira, and eat it on one of the area's fabulous beaches, such as Jumeirah Open Beach.
Afternoon: Head to the opulent Burj Al Arab for the most luxurious afternoon tea in town to start off your holiday in style.
Evening: Dine at a Michelin starred restaurant such as Reflets by Pierre Gagnaire.
Day 2: Life's a Beach
Morning: Head to The Beach at JBR and take in the buzzing atmosphere of this city beach. Splash around in the shallows with Marsa Dubai's stunning skyscrapers forming a back drop.
Afternoon: Go along to one of the five-star hotels along the beachfront and try out some watersports, such as kayaking, jetskiing or banana boating.
Day 3: Culture Vulture
Morning: Take a tour of Jumeirah Mosque followed by a visit to the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Cultural Understanding for a traditional Emirati lunch.
Afternoon: Explore Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood and take an abra across Dubai Creek to haggle in the souks.
Evening: Step aboard a traditional dhow for a night of Arabic food and entertainment.
Day 4: Adrenaline Adventure
Morning: Take a leap of faith with Skydive Dubai and enjoy incredible views of the Palm Jumeirah and Marsa Dubai as you speed towards them from 12,000 feet. Alternatively, try slightly less scary indoor skydiving at iFLY Dubai, Mirdif City Centre.
Lunch: Have a relaxed lunch at Barasti, Dubai's best beach bar.
Afternoon/Evening: Go on a desert safari where you'll be taken dune bashing, try sand skiing and be treated to an Arabic buffet with entertainment including a belly dancer.
Day 5: Fun in the Sun
All day: Spend the whole day at Aquaventure or Wild Wadi, where you can scare yourself on the rides, spash about in the sea or relax on a sun lounger as you please.
Afternoon: Swim with the dolphins at Dolphin Bay or check out the fabulous Lost Chambers aquarium, both part of the Aquaventure complex.
Evening: Stroll along Marina Walk and eat at one of the many cafes that line the waterway, before a cocktail at Shades, The Address Dubai Marina, where you can take in the incredible skyline.
Day 6: Shop 'til you drop
Morning: Take a trip to the 124th floor of the Burj Khalifa, and see how the city, sea and desert come together.
Afternoon: After a fancy lunch at The Dubai Mall's Galeries Lafayette, or any of the mall's superb eateries, spend the afteroon shopping, marvelling at the enormous aquarium window and checking out SEGA Republic indoor theme park.
Evening: Watch the Dubai Fountain from one of the many restaurants lining Burj Lake, followed by cocktails at Neos, The Address Downtown.
