Transportation
Dublin is well serviced by public transport, although unlike many European countries, it is not particularly known for its punctuality or reliability. Trains are usually predictable enough although the odd set of leaves on the track or line-fault can cause disruption. Buses however, which are victims of the city’s ever-increasing traffic congestion, can be haphazard – you might wait for one for ages and then four come along at once. However buses can use bus lanes and some routes are on dedicated Quality Bus Corridors (QBCs) so it really depends on the service, how often it runs and how much traffic it has to get through. Busy routes like the 7, 46A and 15 have regular buses whereas routes like the 5 to Sandyford have only five departures per day during the week.
