Health Card
Currently there is no requirement for a health card in Malaysia. Expatriates may access treatment at government hospitals and clinics, but in practice this is difficult if you’re not a fluent Bahasa speaker.
Foreign workers classified as ‘expatriates’, earning over RM3,000 per month and in managerial/professional positions do not require medical checks when they apply for or extend their work permits. If you employ a foreign domestic helper, she will need to have a yearly medical check before her permit can be renewed. This is simple to organise and will usually be arranged by your agent if you’re using one.
