Company Closure

If your company closes, you may be owed a benefits package depending on how long you have worked there, and if you signed a contract with the company. This, however, is no guarantee. The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, however, protects workers and their families by requiring employers with 100 or more employees (though generally not counting those who have worked for less than six months with the company or those who work less than 20 hours a week) to provide at least 60 days advance written notice of any foreseeable closing.
