Learning Japanese

Tokyo is a difficult place to get around if you don’t speak at least some basic Japanese. There are plenty of language schools offering one-on-one or group classes during the day or in the evenings. Some of the best language schools run on a term basis, with classes commencing just three times a year, so make sure to sign up well in advance of the date you would like to start. It is worth sitting in on a class, if possible, before signing up so that you are sure it is what you’re looking for. For those of school-going age, most international schools offer Japanese classes; either as part of the compulsory curriculum or as an elective.
