Rejuvenate yourself with visible results at the Waldorf Astoria Spa

Date: 2015-01-11
Delightfully perched on the Eastern Crescent of The Palm Jumeirah, the elegant Waldorf Astoria Spa is grand in every sense of the word, spanning over 3,200 sq m. A statement chandelier in the opulent reception instantly impresses and the subtle decor of pastel hues are soothing. Guests are greeted warmly and dazzled again by an expansive menu offering over 50 unique options.

Unique treatments and products
The treatments are as exclusive as the Waldorf name, delivering both in terms of luxury and results. There is a personal touch too, as they all start with a cleansing foot ritual, an opportunity for the expert staff to establish what you’re after.

This is the only spa in Dubai to use the sensational Swiss Valmont products, with a range of powerful anti-ageing and lymphatic-stimulating facials and massages. The pharmaceutical approval gives credence to their creams and health-promoting promises. For the New Year and a new you, try the ultimate ‘Peaks Of Firmness Anti-Ageing Facial’. Valmont boasts biotechnological extracts with a lifting massage and a chronocellular mask to leave the skin visibly plumper, smoother and firmer. The massages here are unique as well, drawing on the Waldorf’s hallmark ‘Butterfly’ technique of gentle sweeping movements, working up from the décolletage to the face. Their one-of-a-kind ‘Vitality Anti-Ageing Treatment’, also by Valmont, kneads away stresses to leave your skin toned, nourished and relaxed; its anti-ageing body massage activates the lymphatic system and stimulates the removal of day-to-day toxins that accumulate in the body.

Other detoxifying facials and massages use the fabulously fragrant Red Flower and Serge Luten ranges, from New York and Paris respectively, as well as botanical beauty, Neom, lavishly perfumed with relaxing lavender, Brazilian rosewood and jasmine scents. Meanwhile, for a pre-going out glow L’Elixir des Glaciers glamour range brightens dull skin, while a gold sugar scrub is suitably decadent and produces a shine to match the chandeliers.

Traditional touches
The spa also successfully blends multi-cultural Dubai with the Middle-Eastern market. A trio of hammans are available with oils and moisturisers infused with cardamom, fig butter and coffee, while their traditional ‘Attar’ experiences are rich in woody aromas from the East and feminine florals from the West.

Treatments are tailored for ladies and men and a semi-circlular layout neatly divides the female and male zones within the large spa. Generous amenities include six treatment rooms, a nail care studio, a boutique, thermal and water flotation lounges, an ice fountain, a herbal steam room and Himalayan salt stone saunas. Most extravagant are the two stylish VIP suites, complete with illuminated bath tubs (with vibrating sensors) and handpicked music - the perfect couple’s gift.

Outside, lush greenery and attractive herb-scented gardens lead guests towards a gorgeous beach and infinity pool, both with sweeping views over the sea and skyline. Visitors can also choose a half or full day package to sample spa treatments, a poolside lunch, afternoon tea and relax on the private beach. This spa, which only opened last October, is an exciting tribute to the Waldorf brand and to the spa scene, providing impeccable service and an unforgettable experience.
