Swimming

Abu Dhabi’s location on the Arabian Gulf means easy access to water that’s relatively clean and at a pleasant temperature for most of the year. During the hottest months, the water near the beach is often warmer than a bath. Swimming in the sea is possible at public beaches, beach parks and private beaches belonging to hotels, usually with dedicated areas.

Hotels
There are no public swimming pools but most hotels have swimming pools that are open for use by the public for a day entrance fee; the Abu Dhabi Marina and Yacht Club also has a pool open to day guests, as does the Monte Carlo Beach Club, Saadiyat on Saadiyat Island. Entrance charges vary, but range from Dhs.50 to Dhs.400 on weekdays and Dhs.100 to Dhs.600 at weekends, and sometimes include beach access if the hotel has a private beach. Pools are usually cooled for the summer months.

Lessons
Hiltonia Health Club & Spa offers swimming lessons for kids and adults. Prices start from Dhs.120 (members) or Dhs.150 (non-members) for a private lesson, while group lessons are on offer from Dhs.270 for a set of four sessions.
