KidZania is an excellent choice for younger children. The ‘edutainment’ concept involves a realistic game of life where kids can roam the 80,000 sq ft mini city as if they were adults, working in their choice of over 90 professions and making grown-up decisions about saving their wages or spending on shopping or entertainment.

For glamorous gliders

The Dubai Mall's Olympic-sized ice rink is not just for short sessions of entertainment. If you find you have a knack for this chilly pastime, you can enrol with Dubai Ice Rink Skating Academy which holds training programmes such as an intensive summer camp. Then you can try out your moves at one of the rink’s dance nights which often feature celebrity DJs.

For pampered princesses

It’s hard work shopping for designer labels so find some time to relax at one of Reel Cinemas’ four platinum movie suites. Here, you can enjoy drinks and nibbles from marble-clad surroundings with designer furniture and ambient lighting before being ushered through to one of the suite’s 32 leather recliner chairs, where there will be butler service, pillows and blankets.

For water babies

Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo partners with Al Boom Diving to enable divers to swim with sand tiger sharks, reef sharks, leopard sharks, tawny nurse sharks, giant groupers and stingrays, and a whole host of other species. PADI-certified visitors can explore the marvels of underwater photography, and join the aquarium’s divers in the cage at feeding time, while a cage snorkelling experience and glass-bottom boat offer further perspectives on more than 70 different marine species in the 10 million litre tank.

For adrenaline seekers

Bringing world-renowned and well-loved names such as Sonic the Hedgehog to Dubai, SEGA Republic indoor theme park is an exciting find on Level 2 of The Dubai Mall, with 76,000 sq ft of adventurous rides, arcade and gaming machines.
