Driving Schools
If you’re learning to drive in Malaysia, or you are unable to convert your licence and have to retake the test locally, you must use a local driving school. One of the requirements for acquiring a Malaysian licence is the completion of 16 hours’ instruction with a certified school. Driving schools can also help prepare for the theory test, offer advice on driving on Malaysia’s roads and assist with the licence application process. Schools usually use manual Kancils or other very small cars for instruction. The Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) runs courses in defensive driving which may help anyone who feels nervous about facing KL’s notorious traffic.
