Some nine kilometres east of Kuala Selangor, the tiny village of Kampung Kuantan is a popular destination for visitors wishing to see spectacular displays of synchronised flashing by thousands of fireflies in the Mangrove swamps along the Selangor River. The fireflies are at their best between dusk and midnight and can be visited on a locally hired boat.
