This 2,966 acre primary rainforest park is around 20 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur, just off the highway E1 (the North-South Expressway) in the direction of Ipoh. Take the exit at Rawang. It’s an excellent venue for hikes through the jungle on any of a number of marked trails. Don’t miss the Kanching Waterfalls, and bring swimwear so you can enjoy a dip in one of the artificial lake’s many lagoons. A climb up the 350 metre-high Bukit Takun, stopping on the way to explore some of its caves, is a popular pastime.
