Shopping & Amenities
There are basic shopping malls in Glenfield and Highbury, and a shopping centre in Northcote, which is dominated by Asian food stores. You’ll find a factory shopping complex in Northcote, a cluster of large homeware stores on Link Drive in Glenfield, and a small neighbourhood shopping centre in Beach Haven. Glenfield has a good leisure centre, with a pool and gym. There are good walks around the Chelsea Sugar Refinery and in Kauri Park in Birkenhead. The best place to spend an evening is probably the Bridgeway Cinema (09 481 0040) in Northcote Point.
