Dress Code

In one of the leading fashion capitals of the world, there is an unspoken rule that appearance and respect go hand in hand. The French revere self presentation above most other things, so to avoid sticking out as a tourist, a safe bet would be to dress up rather than down. Bars and pubs tend to be more casual, whereas lounges and clubs are a veritable fashion show of each season’s hottest trends. Gentlemen, nice shoes are a must; sneakers and sandals are grounds for instant rejection at the door. In the winter feel free to wear your best coat to a club, where you can check it for a small fee, but be cautious in a bar where 'coat check' is a pile on a chair – you might not see yours again.
