2007 saw the Dutch TV channel, BNN, grab worldwide headlines with its spoof programme The Big Donor Show. They claimed the show was made to draw attention to the lack of organ donors. In the Netherlands as in most other countries, hundreds of people die waiting for an organ transplant.
