Taking The Tests

If you cannot exchange your licence you will have to take a theory exam (it is possible to do this in English: http://rijbewijs.cbr.nl/index.asp?pageid=19). You will have to contact the CBR yourself to reserve a place for the exam. The practical test will cost upwards of €150 and will have to be arranged by a driving school. If you like, a school can arrange both tests. To brush up on your Dutch highway code, log on to www.verkeerenwaterstaat.nl, and there is a PDF available to download in the English part of the site called ‘Road Traffic Signs and Regulations’.
