Tallaght and its surrounding areas have a range of properties and prices. Development has slowed somewhat compared to the boom of a few years ago, but there are plenty of new and second-hand properties on the market. In Firhouse, to the east of Tallaght and popular with first-time buyers, a three-bed semi will cost from around €410,000 to €600,000 and upwards. Knocklyon has a mix of apartments – a two-bed might start at €370,000 up to larger homes at around €800,000 or €900,000. In Ellensborough, a six or seven year old two-bed might cost €315,000 or a house around €480,000. Marlfield and Deerpark in the same area, have similar prices. Further out, there has also been a huge amount of housing built around City West. In large developments like The Belfry, which started about four years ago, a three-bed semi might cost around €310,000 or a two-bed apartment around €300,000.
In Clondalkin there is also a good mix of properties from apartments to substantial older houses, mainly around the village. At the lower end of the budget, a three-bed in a former council estate could cost around €290,000 and an apartment in the Green Isle Hotel area starts at €335,000 for a two-bed, or €300,000 for a terraced house. A detached four-bed house in this area might cost around €800,000.
