Suburbs like Drumcondra, Glasnevin and Griffith Avenue are mature residential areas with a mix of period and early 20th century properties, with easy access to the city centre. Whitehall and Santry are a little less convenient for the city and would have traditionally been more working-class areas. Glasnevin also crosses into the Dublin 11 postcode. Drumcondra, Glasnevin, Griffith Avenue, Whitehall, Beaumont and Santry all fall in to the Dublin 9 area.
