Accommodation

Dublin 9, just north of the city, is an established area with a mix of period red-brick houses and those built in the 1930s, especially around Mobhi Road and Griffith Avenue. Further out, towards Whitehall, Collins Avenue and Santry, houses date mainly from the 1950s with a lot of three-bed semi detached homes. Whitehall also has some former local authority housing estates and developments from the 1990s include Collinswood and Charlemont.

Like everywhere else in the city, there are some more recent apartment developments, a two-bed costing anywhere from €350,000 to €500,000. A typical 1930s house on Mobhi Road or Griffith Avenue will set you back over €1m and a three-bed or four-bed redbrick house on a road like Iona Road in Drumcondra will cost around €1.5m. Towards Santry and further out, prices come down to between €450,000 and €600,000 for a typical house.
