Main routes to Drumcondra, Whitehall, Beaumont and Santry are all well served by buses from the city centre. The western suburban rail service connects Drumcondra to Connolly station and on to the Dart suburban rail in the city centre. The proposed Metro North, a new metro line from St Stephen’s Green, will stop at Drumcondra, Griffith Avenue, DCU, Ballymun and Santry, with links to Dublin Airport and further out to Lissenhall. The line is due to be completed in 2012.
