Although progress has been made with regard to facilities for the physically challenged, there’s still considerable room for improvement and growing awareness is prompting action to make life easier for people with special needs. Elsewhere, all car parks have some spaces reserved, most major buildings have special toilet facilities and newly renovated food courts come with wheelchair friendly tables. Wheelchair ramps are becoming a standard feature of new buildings and some cinemas have special wheelchair lifts.
