In the past 10 years, busking has taken off in a big way, and it is all the more entertaining to see the Japanese, who are generally a reserved people, let it all hang out. Full bands will rock out near Yoyogi Kōen on the weekends. Folkies can be found around Ikebukuro, Ebisu and Shibuya stations. And you’ll even catch the occasional jazz trio in Shinjuku.
