National Dress
The traditional costumes and wooden shoes that the Netherlands is associated with are hardly ever seen except in tourist spots such as Volendam, where you can have your photo taken in various outfits (milkmaid etc) for a jolly folkloric-themed Christmas card (or whatever). A white cotton or lace hat with turned up triangular flaps (a 'Dutch cap') is part of the women's costume, as in Vermeer's famous painting The Milkmaid.
Clogs were originally used as a cheap alternative to leather shoes, and farmers, road-workers and bulb growers still wear them instead of rubber boots. The clog is of course a ubiquitous image in the souvenir industry, adorning keyrings and fridge magnets or taking the form of fluffy slippers.
