This is a special scheme for entrepreneurs. In order to be eligible you must be an American citizen under 60 years of age. Receiving a residence permit under the Dutch American Friendship Treaty means that you are free to live in the Netherlands and start your own company or represent American companies with interests in the Netherlands. You are not permitted to seek paid employment with another employer; if you wish to you will have to apply for a new work permit. When seeking to obtain a residence permit under this treaty you will have to include a comprehensive copy of your business permit. You will need valid documents like a passport and health insurance.
