Bill Payment

Phone bills for landlines are quarterly in the Netherlands. Your landline bill will include your rent for ADSL from KPN; your internet bill will come separately and is usually monthly. The television provider, UPC, also charges quarterly. There are several choices of payment: you can arrange for the money to be automatically paid out of your account, pay online yourself, fill in the payment slip that comes with the bill and send it to your bank, or go to Postbank and pay with cash. If you miss a bill you will be sent several reminders before you are penalised. You will have to pay extra administration fees if this is the case. If you’re unsure of whether or not you owe any money you can call your provider and ask to speak to the administration department. You can also request that your phone bills are itemised, which will cost a small additional fee. With some services you can now have an account online and check how much you owe.
