Water

The water in the Netherlands is very clean and the service is reliable. The water companies in the Netherlands are government owned and handle everything to do with water from rivers and canals to drink water. Contact Waternet, the organisation responsible for Amsterdam’s water, to get connected. You can reach them on 0800 1525, from 08:00 to 18:00 daily. The visiting address is Spaklerweg 16. You can also visit the site but the information is in Dutch (www.waternet.nl). How much you must pay for your water is dependent on the amount of people registered in the house. One person costs €42.70 a year, so a family of four can expect to pay €184.37 a year including tax.
